Stacked Taco Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 package (1-1/4 ounces) dry taco seasoning mix
  • 1 medium head iceberg lettuce, chopped (about 8 cups)
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced (about two cups)
  • 1 bag (8 ounces) baked tortilla chips, crushed
  • 1 bottle (8 ounces) sweet-and-spicy French salad dressing

Directions

In a medium skillet, brown the ground beef with the taco seasoning mix, stirring to break up the meat. Drain and cool.

In a large glass trifle or other serving bowl, layer half of the lettuce, then half of the cheese, beans, ground beef, and tomatoes. Repeat the layers, then top with the crushed tortilla chips. Just before serving, drizzle with the dressing and toss to coat the ingredients well.
